The first half of B1: you move from surviving in German to handling real life independently. You master the connectors and clause types that make speech sound fluent, the full past tenses for telling stories, the passive voice, and relative clauses — across work, housing, biography, technology, society and relationships. The course closes with a full Goethe/ÖSD B1-format exam-training unit.
After this course you can…
- Can connect ideas fluently using deshalb, trotzdem, weil, obwohl and correct word order.
- Can narrate past events using the Präteritum and Plusquamperfekt in the right order.
- Can understand and form the passive voice to describe processes and facts.
- Can build relative clauses in all four cases to give precise descriptions.
- Can write formal application emails, messages to a landlord, a short biography and opinion posts.
- Can handle a job interview, an apartment viewing and give advice in conversation.
- Is trained in all four Goethe/ÖSD Zertifikat B1 exam modules (Lesen, Hören, Schreiben, Sprechen).
